Trees

Thoughts, yes-no. It looks better, brighter in the centre than on here and with a black background. :mrgreen:

It has some nice elements....the 3 dark corners are a tad too obvious and I'm not sure why but it just doesn't quite get there from me. I think it might be because the strongest line in the image, the horizon, leads my eye out of the image space at the bottom right hand of photo. But close! :up:

I think the problem with the photo is that the main subject is right bang in the midle. Now, consider cropping a bit at the bottom leaving the horizon on the first bottom third and then cropping off the far left trees leaving the main trees, which now are in the centre, on the first vertical third on the left leaving the photograph in a square format. Perhaps your new composition would add visua linterest and work better. Just an idea.

Thanks zafra, yes bang in the middle is a problem with it as well.

Thanks for the comments good advice. :up: As Matt said close but no cigar. Its what I thought deep down, but I needed to be told.

I like this version better. The main subject stands without competition. The colours look a bit brighter to and I don't mind the black cloud encrouching on the sceen warning of rain.
