I don't mind the image and find the silhouette of the trees quite interesting. Much prefer the colour version.

I like the play of the top half being cool and the lower half being warm - I'd be inclined to accentuate that even further.
I also find the slight blown-out sun spot on the water distracting to the eye and would use the healing brush to fix that in Photoshop (along with straightening the horizon :nono: )

I took the liberty of doing a quick 60 second edit to show you what I saw (I hope you don't mind - if so please let me know and I will remove).

Adjustments made were:
- straighten horizon
- adjust channel mixer (Blue channel, raised blues and lowered greens)
- healing brush to improve bright sun spot on water

Thanks Dave.
Thanks for the feed back and the reworked version. It does give it a warmer feel.
The horizon, did not see that for the trees

No worries. It just gives you another point of view. We all see things in a different way - that's how I'd interpret the shot (no right or wrong, just different)

Sometimes it is hard reviewing your own work as you can get stuck focusing on one thing and completely overlook something else.

I like the second image best. The image is atmospheric, quite, tranquil....but how much better would it be if there was a white swan in the foreground? It seems to missing 1 element...swan, jumping trout, small boat..that would lift it to above excellent.
