If it is then no wonder all the birds are flying off - to go grab their bounty!

I cannot see any chip flying through the air hot or cold. It could be, when I come to think of it.
As I approached the scene some youngsters had been enjoying themselves by throwing a chip at a time and watching the birds fight for it. I moved in with the iPhone ready into the seagulls' territory where they were expecting another chip and all flew away and this is what you see in the picture.
You must have very good eyesight.
