I had a few days in Tassie this week, up to and including today.

I quite agree; I like all of them.

Great shots! All have the essentials for landscapes, foreground, middle ground and back ground. If I might make 1 slight negative comment....I think the images have been over sharpened and this gives them a slightly unnatural look.

Great shots, Im guessing you packed the fuji gear to travel with? They look fantastic, makes me actually want to go visit there again!! (lasted 24hrs last time, might have to make it a longer stay and explore more next time).

It's Tassie, so looking unnatural should be ... natural.

I agree with Matt, they are all over sharpened, this is exacerbated by the forum resize, however viewing on flickr shows they have been pushed a bit far.

I like your low viewpoint on Dove lake too

Thanks all for the comments. I do agree that they're most probably over sharpened to a fair degree but to be honest the processing was done on-the-fly . If I was printing these large I would take more time to do the saturation/sharpening etc. There's just not much time (or internet) while on the road. Taste is a nice place to visit. This week I am not exactly working but taking care of my elderly parents on this trip, which actually makes for harder work than a normal week but hey, that's life. Off to Port Arthur today so should be interesting.

Just home from Pt Arthur Gary and I've only read your post now. I did spend a moment reflecting at the memorial. I remember years ago visiting the cafe which is now empty. I'm sorry to hear that your friend died in the tragedy. We enjoyed Pt Arthur but I must admit it was a little strange being there this time. The staff seemed very understanding and professional when mentioning 1996.

It seemed an appropriate day too, being 11/11, and as usual I did also get to spend a minute's silence, (alone) on this special day.

I've only been to Tassie once; 1973, for my honeymoon. Can't remember where my then wife went ...

I need to go again (and to Adelaide) ....

I took Robyn on the Overland Track (Cradle Mt to Lake St Clair) on our 1st anniversary way back in January 1984. We slogged through 5 days of mud. Lost her a couple of times but eventually found her again. Actually I think she tried to lose me a few times for taking her there, but I always kept coming back...

Tassie is a nice place, not quite as majestic as NZ but still beautiful, especially the alpine regions. Unfortunately for many it takes a lot of walking to get to the very best spots and it's also a very expensive place to visit.
