I just love this image. I spent a lot of time just looking at all the acitivity going on, the castle on the hill, the tall ship in the harbour in the distance, the sunset etc...
Great photo. i really enjoyed looking at this one, expecially as i have been there, but had forgotten how it looked. Now you have jogged my memory.

Yep, I agree with Steve.
Although I would try selecting the sky and adjusting the levels, it may give the sunset a bit more impact.

Great image. I love the way that the pier leads the eye into the photo, with the subdued sunset reflected in the water to balance that out.
While I think it might be an interesting exercise to increase the intensity of the sunset, I suspect it might spoil the subdued balance that you have at this time.

Yeah, I don't think I have my PC setup correctly as I went through a full reinstalled so things are a bit out of whack regarding color setups.
Thanks for the great feedback. I was quite lucky because I had 2 shots both landscape and pretty much the same shot slightly rotated horizontally by 15. I love the one with the lamp post but felt the orange/pink sky didn't have as much impact because it was on the right side. Then I found the other shot that didn't have the lamp post but had the sky where I liked it. Then the alarm bells went off and I dumped them into Pano Factory and combined into 1 shot.

Captain James Cook sailed a coal-carrier as an apprentice out of Whitby before he joined the Royal Navy. He would have passed by that spot many times on his way out to London. A lot of the buildings in that photo (and in Whitby) would have been there then.

Tried applying a Velvia action to it to bring out the colors. Increased contrast by 10, and brightness by about -5 to -10.
