Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Some recent portraitsI haven't had much time (read: motivation) to shoot much over recent months. Dusted off the ol' Xpro2/35 F1.4, (attached an el cheapo Cactus flash trigger along with my 15 year old Canon EX430 for a few shots), and here's some results:

Re: Some recent portraitsThese are excellent and just go to show what the Fuji X-pro and the 35mm 1.4 lens are capable of in the hands of a competent photographer. Nice work.

Re: Some recent portraitsThanks Matt. I have to photograph (officially) a wedding late next month (September) and I'm trying to get back into practice. Bit scary when it's a few years since the last time I was official photographer but all will be right on the night. I hope!

Re: Some recent portraitsOzi, they are excellent. I like the first one best because of the angle. Isn't she a beauty!
Re: Some recent portraitsThe first one, not just the angle, but also how the focus softens over the depth of the image.
The second could be improved just a tad had not the foot/shoe been cut off at the bottom. g.

Re: Some recent portraitsthat first one nailed it. The DOF and expression, just perfect
I think the backdrop in the 2nd and 4th have not done you any favours gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Some recent portraits
Point taken. Robyn is making me a brand new backdrop for my new studio, which doesn't exist yet . Actually it's just the garage, and the beautiful backdrop is currently a couple of large fibre sheets for my bathroom renovation, which also doesn't yet exist but will someday. In the future. Some time. When I get around to it. President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)
