Great shots, Murray. They are a sad reminder of how fragile is the environment; it will take years and lots of water to recover.

Thanks very much Zafra. The usual fire season is another six weeks so we're not out of it yet. The worrying thought is that may be the new normal if we continue to do nothing about Climate Change and the average temperature continues to rise.

I am not trying to be political, but I feel it is essential to let our political leaders (federal, state and council) know that we expect better coordination, a national plan that incorporate all levels of government and the proper and necessary equipment and resources available in times of need. Fires, floods, cyclones and similar catastrophes don't understand geographic boundaries or levels of government.

That's certainly true though that's dealing with the problem. We also need to try to avoid it in future. The Government needs to address Climate Change, which is the fundamental cause of this unprecedented situation. Otherwise, this will become the new normal and then deteriorate from there.
