El Transparente (Toledo's Cathedral)
Posted: Wed Dec 09, 2020 4:06 pmThis altarpiece is called El Transparente (The Transparency) an it is one of the many altarpieces in Toledo's Cathedral. The reason for its name is that to illuminate it they had to open two skylights in the thick walls and ceiling of the building. One skylight above, which gives the impression of heavenly light and one from behinds the monument to filter through the marble.
