Although I have caught my fair share of fish over the years, I really don’t like fishing. Or golf for that matter, but at least with fishing you can eat the proceeds, unlike golf. Hard boiled golf balls taste terrible... President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Re: Fight at StraddieGolden rule #1 - don't ever ask me to cook. Anything. Ever. That's why I married my darlin' wife (and incidentally we are coming up on 38 years of marriage this Friday, and no, she hasn't poisoned me yet. There are better ways to get the life insurance money than poisoning the Irish stew.)

Re: Fight at StraddieCongratulations! 38 years together is a respectable number of years and hard work on both sides of the partnership. It also means you married in 83, which is 38 backwards.
Re: Fight at Straddie
Interesting number is 38. One of my goals in life was to reach 38 years of age. My dad died suddenly at age 38. I don’t remember him as I was only a toddler at the time. I’ve passed that number by over 20 years for which I thank the good Lord above! President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Re: Fight at Straddie
And medical science. My story is similar. My dad passed when I was but a wee lad of 7; he was 43. I thought that I might die, if not in my forties, then in my fifties. still kickin' many years along, and yes, I most certainly am a testament to medical science, Although I have had them puzzled on more than one occasion. g.

Re: Fight at StraddieMy elderly mother has told me the story of my father’s passing. Back in 1965 there was relatively little known about heart attacks, at least compared to today. Maybe he could have had several more decades of life with medical intervention etc. Maybe not. It’s all history now.
As an aside, my brother-in-law just had a quad bypass in Sydney. 68yo and fit and thankfully the pros caught his condition in time. My best mate (57yo) similar situation in December with life saving stents etc. I suppose we have to be thankful for each and every day gifted to us. Seeing life is so short, do you reckon Robyn would buy me a brand new Fuji GFX 100s for my 60th birthday? President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Re: Fight at Straddie
Have the smelling salts and a bottle of clouded ammonia ready at hand before telling Robyn the price tag of the gear. But, before that I suggest you watch on SBS on demand the tv series Why women kill. Just a thought.
