Mudcrab muse and caviar entree

I took this picture at a wine-tasting lunch recently. It is an entree made with a muse of mud crab, caviar and many other ingredients. I didn't eat it because I can't stand crab or caviar. I took the picture because I couldn't help but admire the chef's craftsmanship to create such a delight to the eyes and palate, for the guests. I remember thinking at the time "so much work and time to create this entree and eaten in less than a minute" - the taste has long gone from the mouths that ate it, but the image persists. I hope you like it.

But seriously, this is a seriously nice image, and especially given the situation within which it would have been made.

As to the chef's expertise and tine vs the time taken to eat it, I can well relate: it takes me hours to prepare some sushi (when I'm making it), but literally seconds for it all to disappear from the plates.

It can take me minutes to make Vegemite on toast, and it's still half eaten half an hour later ... :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
