I took this photo two years ago in Bamberg (Germany). Neptunbrunnen Gabelmoo is a popular meeting place and this time of the year young people pledge their young love by hanging Easter eggs. I hope you like it.

What a wonderful custom

Do the eggs actually get eaten? Interesting piece of culture. In NZ, there are large stretches of country roads where there are hundreds of boots/shoes all strung over a fence. No idea why. Land of the long white gumboot maybe?

I don't think so. I think they were made of plastic or some other material and they had ribbons to be hung from.
