had the pleasure of taking photos at an iraqian christening last sunday.

the photo below happened in a split second. the sun out came creating shaft of yellow light just as the priest? carried the baby from the sink

Image

unfortunaly the baby is not in focus..the D70 just not focus fast enough to focus on the baby

here's a crop of the out of focus baby

Image

in NC4 I;ve already USM more than usual.
anybody got any idea on how to sharpen the out of focus baby???

thanks

Reduce the size (as you've done) unsharpen the priest behind so it doesn't stick out so much, and add maybe some glare or play up more the light from above aspect to wash out the photo slightly to counter the less than optimal focus.

that a great idea..draw the focus away from the 'sharp' focus priest. I was thinking a vignette would also work.

thanks onxy :)
