This is David my son and heir with his first best friend.

I think I have the same DOF problem as the previous shot.

hi geoff,

to overcome your DOF field problem, try shooting in A mode around F8 or higher (great for sharpness aswell as increase in DOF.)

The downside is that your shutter may slow beyond hand-holding ability ... in which case you need to enable your flash / speedlite, or raise ISO (im anti-iso so i'd go with the flash.)

Also, are you shooting jpeg / raw? Try bumping your exposure bias up 0.3 or more ... or load a custom curve into your camera if you want some more "brialliance" straight out of the box.

Hi Geoff,
I am finding that I would like to see David's whole face, particularly both of his eyes (they are a nice blue!). I would also like to see more of their bodies as it feels like they are a bit chopped off. I don't find the DOF too distracting in this shot, although the dog's face is a little OOF.
