As suggested, I have shot the dead tree..... better rephrase that... I have taken more pics of the dead tree in the morning and the evening. I have put them together as a package using PS.
I have also added a couple of more taken at the lake this evening.
As usual, your comments are very welcome.

Without a doubt, that last one is the pick of the bunch. The extra warmness of the setting? sun adds so much more to the shot.

Sensational. ell done.

In the final (wider) shot, the tree seems more separated from the background. Combined with the composition, this shot really drew me in.

There is something about dead trees that look great! I love the last one, just brilliant! The sunlight highlighting the dead tree is great, coupled with some birds and reflections makes for a very peaceful shot!

Thanks for all the comments. The dead tree in the last shot is actually a different one to the first, which is located in a backwater of the lake. There are several other trees that have drowned as well. This is as close as I can get to it. In fact, in winter, I will not be able to get this close because where I was standing will be waterlogged. BTW the dog likes it there. He is no threat to the wildlife, he loves everything & everybody. He likes to paddle in the lake but not swim.
