So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Black Tusk

I guess this sort of thing has become my specialty. Are these getting a little too repetitive? This massive thing is called Black Tusk and I actually climbed it when I was about 13-14 or so. We were only getting spots of sunshine for this photo so I actually sat there and waited for a sunny spot to roll in. I'm inclined to crop the bottom part but decided to refrain for now, what do you think?

I never tire of seeing beautiful scenery and this is definately beautiful scenery. I think calling it 'Black Tusk', is being nice. I would have called it something different altogether.

If this is your 'bread and butter', please don't switch to margarine. :)

The bottom tends to balance well with sky...........Great shot as is.....and cropped it would also look good if you had not seen this one.....

Another great snow shot from you and the sepia works well. Leave as is rather than crop.

Dave - don’t stop taking these photos - what amazes me is that you climbed this at such an early age - if I climb on a chair I get dizzy :D

nice dooda.. being a skier i will never tire of this :)

can i suggest a slightly tighter crop, omitting a little bit of sky and a little bit of the left of the image .. .maybe

IMO, shooting what you enjoy shooting is much more important than being repetitive. The shots are unique and interesting to me. This one is quite nice, perhaps needs a little USM, though. :)

Thanks for the comments All. I don't think I'll ever tire of taking these, but sometimes I have to wonder if people think "gee whiz, another snow shot from Dave..."

Darb, that is sort of what I was thinking with the crop, and I think I'll probably do that but it wasn't really obvious so I thought I would post and get everyone's opinion.

Unsharp mask is at about 85 or so which generally is pretty good, but I'm finding that posting on the web blurs a little bit lately (since shooting raw atleast). Not sure why...I quite liked how the Sepia turned out, I find it tricky to do just enough so you haven't overdone it.
