Whoa... bizarre looking things, remind me of those Easter island heads! Nice shot too, the DOF works well, but I think the front head could do with some fill flash maybe?

I agree with the fill flash, the shadows are a bit harsh

Steve - I like the shot but as the other have said maybe a fill flash would have helped. You could also try a gradient mask in PS.

I don't think it needs a fill flash. I think the detail can be seen clearly in the face of the main subject.

Great photo of an interesting subject.

I have to agree with Killakoala. I think I calibrated my monitor lastnight and the image appears fine.

If they caught your eye then you shouldn't go throwing it around.

nicely done!
forget fill flash for this type of thing, what you need is a home-made reflector!

While the shadows are a tad harsh, the exposure is good, with no blown highlights. You're well within the contrast range of the sensor here, so fill would have not done all that much for you.

A reflector into the shadows? That would have helped soften the shadows nicely, I suspect.

Good image; great use of DoF.

Matt ... I was travelling on a bus one time and had a terrible accident: I had my eye on a seat, and somebody sat on it!
