Cotter River

On the way back from a bit of location searching for this weekend's Rally of Canberra, I was driving over Cotter River Bridge and saw what could be a potentially good shot.

Ideas? Post Processing Suggestions? Opinions?

I was sort of intrigued by the rather stormy looking clouds hovering above the parched river bed

I'm fairly happy with it, and prefer the B&W over the original colour shot here:

It's a bit soft on my screen, but that could be the jpeg conversion.

I'm not too big on the greyscale photo as the levels of contrast don't create a big enough impact, especially when the clouds are supposed to give the impression of impending doom (sort of :P) versus the serenity of the river and environment.

Pretty nice shot of a lovely scene, Daniel. :D I like the B&W, but it looks a notch dark and perhaps insufficient contrast, on my screen.

Obviously a beautiful spot but it is a tad dark and in need of contrast - but keep on posting

Thanks for the feedback

PiroStitch: Yeh, the image is definitely softer after a resize and jpeg conversion. Tried to get it a bit sharper, but couldn't get much of an improvement :(

KerryPierce & sirhc55: I was initially concerned about that too - I *really* should calibrate my screen correctly. I've added a bit of contrast/brightness, however it was really easy to blow out the shadows/highlights. I also should learn how to use Photoshop at a higher level :)

Again, thanks for the useful comments.
