One that missed the "3" comp! Was sifting through some images from my recent African adventure and found this one..pity it wasn't taken within the time frame!
This was shot from the hip on Table Mountain in Cape Town (South Africa) with two lovely ladies by my side (gf and mum!). Liam =] Edit: Pic re-inserted cos I'm gonna go with my second image!! Last edited by beetleboy on Thu Apr 28, 2005 5:54 pm, edited 3 times in total.
A very spectacular view. i can see what you mean about the '3' thingy

Someone else has also wonderful view! I find the perspective interesting because, to me, it looks like the bushes & background are a long way off but judging by your shadows, they must be much closer than they look?
I've been up Table Mountain a long time ago, and don't remember the view being this good! You certainly had a good clear day.
Nikkofan, it was only a short drop from the ledge we were on but the late afternoon light cast our shadows quite far out..
It was a fairly clear day, the sunset was absolutely stunning but unfortunately occured as we were herded off the mountain into the last cable car down..dang nammit! Marvin, I have over 1500 photos from the trip and about 200 of them are brilliant (in my opinion, a slightly bias opinion!). It's just a matter of choosing what to show! Liam =]
Liam -
If I remember correctly, for the "threes" or any of the monthly competitions the pictures must be taken within the four weeks following the last contest. So your trip was probably too long ago for those particular pictures to be eligible. I believe I am correct on this. Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.
Liam - Sorry that I missed the point - It's after 2am here and my brain is already dozing. I thought your post was the one tonight where they mentioned it was not eligible because it was posted here and entries in the "Threes" competition have to be anonymous. I should probably call it a night. Cheers, my friend (if I may call you that). Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.
Shame.... probably would have won

BUGGER!AHHHH SHIZER!!
Just spent a couple of hours working on my 3's entry and realised that this photo IS valid in the comp!! It was taken on the 15th Mar and according to Scott's site photo's are valid from the 12th Mar!!! Guess it's too late to delete it from here and hope everybody can pretend they never saw it?!! Liam =[
I've heard that it's okay if it's only a post and delete. But if you actually go back and bump the post then it's eliminated from the comp.
I'm curious as to what happens in relation to the Challenge with this photo. I saw the pic before it was deleted and would recognise it again when viewing it in the Challenge gallery. As of this post, there have been 194 views of this thread - I don't know how many of those saw the posted pic before Beetleboy squirrelled it away.
I certainly don't want to rain on anyone's parade but surely there are anonymity issues here that may have an effect on Beetleboy's chances in the Challenge; either positively or negatively? I'd be very interested to hear other's ideas. Simon

Thanks for the feedback guys..that's what I was after.
I took the pic down as a precaution, in case Scott came back and said..hey, no probs! I've actually spent quite a bit of time on another image for the comp so prob won't end up using this one anyway. Liam =]
I know that I would recognize it, but I don't know how much it would affect my decision. I would say that it should probably conform to the rules of the comp, whatever they be as we all are/have done, but it wouldn't make any difference to me personally. It's still a photo up against others, however I don't know many of you so I'm not the concern I think.
