(mostly) Aussie Animals - Any Feedback PLEASE??Here are some pics from our recent trip to Symbio Wildlife Park. The animals aren't really too "wild" but made pretty good subjects anyway and are (mostly) Aussie, with the exception of the swan, I think?
Forgive me for posting so many, but I just really like them all! Any feedback please, including what you would do with these in PS? and finally: [/img] Thanks
Nikkofan, the goanna or is it a monitor looks good as does the wombat. The one thing I would mention is frame a bit larger, as all of these except the monitor would have looked better with a slightly larger crop. Eg being able to see the wombats tail, roos ear, etc
Glen
Poop! So you don't like my emu? I really liked him! Oh well ... back to the drawing board! I have some shots of the wombat including his tail but, as they're taken from the behind, it looks like he's either insulted or insulting, if you know what I mean And also of the roo, but it's a broader shot and not a close up of his head, so you can't see his sweet face (I think it's sweet anyway). But, I take your point anyway - I am glad you like the goanna / monitor - hope you noticed the fly (on his eye) which was the reason I shot him in the first place.
As the others said, but i like the nice tight framing Well done. It's nice of the animals to pose for you.
Steve.

neat to see animals from down under!
my only critique is that you are clipping all of the animals in your compositions...
number 2 i like ... the others are OK, but not too exciting and i think a wider frame would have done a lot of justice.
With regard to number 2 also, i would have liked to see his elbow and all of his hand / foot / claw (whatever the heck its called.) ... looking at the space on the top and right of the composition you could've afforded it. But, animals arent always so accomodating when it comes to poses ! A bit of levels and saturation boost could work well too.
Completely forgot about that - d'oh! Anyway, thanks for your comments all. I know I do tend to shoot tight framing but perhaps a little less so is better, so I will take all comments on board. As for animals - I think they are (almost) as hard to shoot as children - our Nikkokids are certainly difficult little creatures to catch in the wild! Eventually they will no doubt get used to having Mummy's camera stuck in their faces but for now they almost run the other way! Wonder why ? ....
