This is an old carriage house located near a local mansion. It's in disrepair, and has somewhat of a ghostly look.

Comments/critique welcome.

Rich, like the photo and like the black and white. In fact like the house, wouldn't mind living there, your shot sold it so well. Only thing would have preferred to see a little more on the right of the house. Nice :D

I'm not sure who owns it, but I'll sell it to you anyway

I'll throw in tix to the US for free

Unfortunately, a new structure was blocking the shot anymore to the right.

Rich, lets go halves, put a big skylight in the top and make it a photographic studio? Looks just about the right size, or maybe a club house for D70 users?

What a great photographic studio it would make too. . . .

It's in a lovely little tourist-trap town with lots of cute arty-fartsy shops.

I hope the town (who I'm assuming owns it) does something with it one day. The mansion it was originally built for is in pristine condition and sits a few hundred yards away:

Rich, liked that shot of the mansion before and still do. It looks an even nicer place to live. Are they both in Pennsylvania?

shame its not in use, then again maybe not as it wouldn't looks so spooky. fantastic picture and a beautiful old building bringing back what looks like a forgotten past.

Such a shame - but a great pic opportunity. Would love to live in a house like that, ghosts and all. Great shot :D

Great shot NetMagi,

What process did you use to turn B&W ?

Thanks,

Mic.

Is that where the Adams Family Live

The right hand side of the house has an Amityville Horror feel to it.

I loosely follow a process I saw someplace else (maybe here?)

I convert to 16bpp, lab color, and then grab just the lightness channel, adjust levels accordingly, then convert to grayscale, then back to RGB to do the color fill for the sephia.

The most important part is getting levels right after grabbing the lightness channel. Makes it or breaks it in my opinion.

Awesome shot and great detail. :D However, I'm a bit confused about the lean to the left and distortion. I'm presuming this was shot at a wide angle?

EDIT:
