Did I overdo this?

Well, I dug out a couple more unprocessed snowy mountain pics again and found this one. Out of the camera it was nothing spectacular, I figured I could probably work with the snbrd lines and the shadows on the mountain in the distance. While post processing I suddenly realized that there are certain things that I sort of want to do that I don't because I like to restrict myself somewhat. Anyhoo, I figured that this one I was going to go for the gusto, bypass the salad and eat the chocolate cake. Lots of contrast, lots of sepia, and lots of vignetting. I'd like your comments on those categories, did I overdo it? Is the Vignetting too much? Would you prefer a cooler bluer look to the already cool scene? Should I have laid off the contrast a touch? And please no "you should shoot to please yourself, as long as it makes you happy, don't worry about what anyone else thinks jargon, because I do, but artisty is accepted and rejected and rated by the people who stand and view it, happy critiquing (be as ruthless as you need) personal insults are fine so long as they're funny.

I tried to post a thumbnail but I can't figure out how to do that yet. Here's the link to a much larger version.

I like it with the high contrast, Dave. It's a little too dark for me though, on the snow at the bottom half of the pic. If it were mine, I'd mask off the snowline at mountains and brighten the bottom half about 1 or 2 notches. Otherwise, it's very cool. :D

Edit: I forgot to tell you that the link to the full size only works if you logon to Flikr. :?

I like the contrastyness (is that a word) and the sepia but I think the vignetting is a little OTT. I think a little less vignetting would look better. Did I say vignetting twice already :-)

Nice shot though.

Cheers

I just dig a little vignetting is all. I would say that I put it in there with the raw plugin opening edit thingy and the vignette didn't look too cooked(Hey, what happens if you make changes that you want to undo on that opening page? Is there a way to bring it back?). After doing levels and curves etc it heavied it up a little. ? What can I say, I went straight for the roast. I thought, to hell with it, I like the vignetted look and I'm going to cook this one up right and proper and get a reaction.
Here's my question though, can anyone tell me why they don't like a little vignetting. I sort of like it because it draws attention to the center of the frame, as well as it softens the corners of a shot and gives it sort of an edgy feel. Sort of like blurring everything around the subject except for the subject. I think that the vignetting really doesn't work in the bottom right where the lines sort of disappear. BTW I really appreciate the comments. Thankyou very much.
