kinda generic shot, and i know there are some distracting reflection in this shot..but somehow i still kinda like it... anyone else have any thoughts on it?

You could do a lot with this shot to make it very interesting,,,,,,,,,think outside the square........ I like it.....

Are you telling him to do Mics trick and invert it?
Nah seriously, I reckon the most distracting reflections are around the extremities of the photo. Right edge, top right edge, and top left edge. The reflection of the boat looks just fine. You could probably knock out the top right and right reflections with a crop. However the reflection on the top left nearest the boat will be the hardest to get rid of. Maybe a lasso selection and apply some
PS editing/tweaking to this area.

Then take the boat and reflection out of this shot and place it on another background............ either shot or created...........

Love the reflection and the boat. Not too sure about having a blue hue in the original. The reworked version reminds me of the flower power type of posters.

Like the soft blue water, be tempted to crop down the right hand side to exclude the dark and light ripples as they seem to take me away from the boat/dinghy what-ever (as you can tell, I'm not a boat person)... tried covering it and it seems to centre the focus on the subject.
