I really could have done with a tripod here. Looking across the Thames towards Waterloo Bridge and the Strand:

I've had to bumb up the levels a bit so you can see the boats on the river.

Although it's perhaps a bit too dark, i do like this image as the natural dark vignetting looks quite artistic and appealing. Nice image.

Soulboy - Waterloo Bridge, the Strand - King’s College on the embankment areas I lived and breathed as a youth and young man - your pic does convey the atmosphere that I once knew, with eloquence - take that as I like your pic.

Nice shot Soulboy. The only thing that I'd change would be to crop 2/3 of the foreground water, so the emphasis is on the skline and the sky itself.

Thanks all of you, I really appreciate the comments and suggestions for all my pictures.

Before I got my D70 back in January, I hadn't picked up a camera since I left school in 1986 so this is very much a re-familiarisation excercise. I'm still learning as to what makes a good picture both "on site" and post production (and remembering I can shove the ISO up a couple of notches at dusk might also help in future.)

Judging by the quality I see here everyday, I know I'm learning from the best so keep it all coming. :)
