Sorry to inflict pics of days gone by from my slide collection but these two were taken (I think) at Brighton on a winters day in the 60’s.

Wow, Chris! Don't be sorry to inflict us with your slide collection, It's wonderful to see them. The first is wonderful and the colours are beautiful. My eye is really drawn into the woman in the red coat/top.
I didn't make it down to Brighton when I was there...but there's always a next time!

Brighton Pier was hit by fire and also collapsed and was closed in 1975. Apparently rebuilt and continues to this day.

Love the single point of the woman in the red coat. Really draws your eye to her.
However, what's with the sand? It appears to be glowing
Was it in the original slide or a bogey that appeared during the scanning process?

I remember visiting the Brighton Pier in about 1973-74.
Ooooh, the flashbacks, and i didn't even have any LSD.
(I was only a young 'un)
Nice one Chris.

The west pier recently had a fire and was shut permanently. It was actually up for sale for 1p!! Anone could buy it but would have needed to spend millions of £ to make it safe. So I think it has now been pulled down leaving just the Palace pier.
Chris, nice shots, Brighton is NEVER that empty anymore. Even in the depths of winter.

That’s why I won’t go back to live there - population explosion

A typical pebbly British beach... Nice shots...
Most of the piers are from the Victorian era and usually make good photo subjects... There are a number of them at beaches near my parents' home in Wales...
