I can confirm that it's a duck, but not which breed.... perhaps some sort of wood duck?
I realise that's of little or no help - sorry!

I did think the shape was a bit like the Cape Barren goose, but then changed my mind. Do you know what sort of goose it is, then?

According to my good wife's bird book it would be a male Maned (Wood) Duck as distinct from the female which has a whitish line above and below the eye.

I think it started life as a maned goose (wood duck) with wings from a guinea fowl maybe some cape barren goose thrown in, back tail and legs retained wood duck, the green on the end of the wings? I dunno , maybe something left over from Shreks dinner
