Red Wattlebird

Taken in our garden. Was about to go out to take photos and I saw it perched on a branch. Let me get really close. Will post EXIF data up soon. Was taken hand held.

1. Cropped
2. Saturation +20
3. USM 50%
4. Velvia 40%

Nice capture, great colour... The ones in my yard seem to like the callistemon/bottle-brush types of bushes, but usually shoot through as soon as they see me... Haven't been able to get a shot as good as these...

Think it was as facinated by me as I was about it. I stood there for a good 5-10minutes at about 2m away :)

Put on a really good show for me.

No mistake on the ID here. :) You're lucky it let you get so close. I haven't got a shot of one of these guys yet either. Nice pics and good to see the yellow underneath.
