Did some trials today as I have a food photo job coming up soon. I set up a little outdoor studio and took a few snaps with some Tomatoes and a mock soup I made out of Water and Soy Sauce (didn't taste so nice!!).
This is one of my fave pics from the session, was taken with the kit lens at f5 around 1/2000 somewhere (was bright outside!).
Comments/tips/crits welcome..strike that, IMPERATIVE!!

I like this photo Liam but my only suggestion would be to clone out the hot spots on the rear group

I saw the top half and thought - what the???
I saw the bottom half and thought Ah... nice...
The only suggestion I could make would be to use additional lighting to reduce the shadow on the back group of tomatoes...
Otherwise luvvvverly shot...

Cheers guys!
Leek, I just did a scroll up and down and know what you mean!! What the?!!
I'm going to try the setup inside with controlled lighting cos it was hard to avoid very bright highlights on all of my objects outside. Now i just have to find some cheap lighting!

p lights you could try 5000oK long life fluoro lamps - about $8 at the supermarket. Diffuse them with a piece of white perspex or white poplin - gives a nice soft light

You need to dial some red out of those eggs.

Thanks Onyx..
WB was quite easy as I had a lot of grey areas to pick at with Photoshop's RAW WB Eyedropper.
Thanks for commenting, means a lot =]
