I took my first wedding shots on Anzac Day as a guest at a friend's wedding. These are some of my favourites. Clicking the image displays a larger version.

The first 2 shots were with a 28/1.4 (thanks birddog) - awesome lens for shots like this. The others were with my 50/1.4 another great lens IMHO.

Comments & critiques welcome

Very nice Stubbsy, liked them all especially "it's all too much" and "waiting"

Peter,

Nice photos. Well done!

Did you use flash at all or just fast glass?

Great images, can warm them up a little

mic - thanks

Glen - I also liked 'waiting', but didn't want to put TWO pageboy shots here

Mikhail - mostly fast glass. For two reasons - I didn't want to flash when the "real" wedding photographer was doing his stuff and because I thought it would be an interesting exercise technically. Lost a lot of shots that way though. If I had it over I'd have used more flash at the reception, but fast glass gives nicer shots as theye are less stark (of course I don't have anything but on board flash... yet  ).

Vince - thanks. The before the reception shots had less PP than the reception shots and definitely could be a little warmer now I look for that. The last one here (from the receoption) seems warm enough to me though. For most of the latter shots (eg the last shot here) they had a yellow cast I removed to make them more natural.

Loved what you did, the camera performed well for you. I especially like the shot of the service from up high....nice perspective.

Am I the only one though who thinks the father of the bride looks like John Howard from the back

Cheers
Deb

You've done well, really liked pageboy, waiting and as mentioned the shot of the service from above is great!

The shots are nice and detailed, and very sharp... I'll bet it was hard to hand back a nice lens huh...

Thanks for the kind comments one and all.

Andrew. I liked the 28/1.4 so much I went to Maxwell's site to check the price. OUCH.

 to hand it back. Birddog tells me these are also very hard to get.
