Heatcote Ls1 Drag Nationals "Burning Cars"Recently took these shots up at Heathcote Raceway in country Victoria.
Once the cars were done drag racing they brought out this Jet Powered Van to torch some cars with its afterburners. Here are the results Comments / Thoughts welcome. Cheers Jim
Woooooo....
Nice shots... I'd be experimenting with some motion in those photos... also what settings are you using? I like the first shot, even if the focus looks a tad out... I love the colour coming from the sparks... Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Excellent shots.
Don't try sitting behind that van at the lights. I like the angle on the second image. Looks like it would have gotten pretty hot there. Did you shoot from far out? Only suggestion is perhaps to drag the exposure of the van out of the shadows slightly. Joolz
1st shot is
f/5 Shutter speed 1/60 2nd is f/3.5 Shutter speed 1/30 3rd is f 3.5 shutter speed 1/320 Can't remeber the iso i had it at for these i think it was at 1000 for the first one then back down to 400 for the other 2. It was so hot that i didn't have to much time set the shots up as i would have liked. I was only about 4 meters away and the damn van kept moving to burn the other side of the cars. I was more concerned with my eyebrows than the shots at that point. Jim Last edited by JimBoSS on Wed May 11, 2005 12:49 pm, edited 1 time in total.
