Hello this is the first images I am uploading....So any comments would be appreciated - As long as they are nice



I will need to work out how to resize without losing too much detail though

Might be better embedding the pics so they're vertically sequenced rather than side-by-side, just so lazy mongrels like me don't have to scroll .

The first one I like, terrific angle, I just seem to keep wandering to the right hand side looking for something, might be just me though

Like the light reflections in the water in the second one, re: resizing and losing detail, do you sharpen before or after you re-size the image? Also, is the second image the full-size image or a crop, just wondering...

The first one is great. I really like the sparkle in the bridge lights.

The second one seems very soft and hazy (?) but I'm guessing that's your getting ready for web problem. I use NC, resize so longest side is 800px or so, then save as jpg (w Good balance option). One plus to this is NC applies sharpening when saving since only at that stage are any of your settings applied.

No these are full size reduced to 24% size. No cropping. I did do a Auto WB on Nikon View 6

Than resized using a generic program. I don't use NC - cannot justify cost.

Do have Photo Shop 6 though I rarely use it. I work with Command line!!!

You can also use Nikon View to prepare for web:
- Tools/Copy and resize as jpeg
- fit to the new fixed fram size + drag slider to show 800 x 600
- Quality settings + drag slider to good quality
specify output etc and you're done.

Command Line - Not by choice - Though I am getting used to it and becoming a bit better than a beginner after 11 years. Long way to go before Matrix - though we have a guy I swear - he read machine code!!!!!!

Well way back when... I used to program in assembler which was one step up from machine code (lots of ASL's and JSRs and BITs and stuff) and I also learnt to read machine code while tweaking things. Downside it was all processor specific. Made for very disciplined coding and got you nice and close to the heart of the action, but these days I'm happy coding in Visual Studio.Net and letting someone smarter than me do the hard work of making my code generate the real stuff.

Ip, like the angle on the first, works well

love the first pic. particularly the star from the lights but not over done.

What tripod are you using? and what lens and settings
