I thought this was one of the most beautiful roses I had ever seen. Hope some of you might agree.

Steve - it is certainly beautiful and would make a great subject for a daily pic to see it as it unfolds

That would be great sport, Chris. Unfortunately the rose sat in this lovely garden along side "Fantasy Island" at the L.A. County Arboretum. Incidentally, the rose picture was shot with the kit lens.

It's a beautiful rose and a great shot, but the colours seem really dull on my work monitor (I'll recheck when I get home). The rose is a very pale apricot colour and the leaves are almost black (a sort of drab dark olive).

That sound's about right, Stubbsy. It's a subtle one. Not one to blow your doors off.
