Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Hi Matt,

I like No 1 and No 3.
No 1 is cool, I like that there is a person walking past, it adds life to the basalt or granite pool (fountain).
No 3 could be a painting of a bird or so ... (I leaves to imagine ...)

Thanks for sharing.

Hey Matt,

I like them all. How the hell did you get a shot of the Darling Harbour water thingy without any rugrats in sight? Shame about the truck in the background. I wonder what it would like in B/W? And the Claypot shot is very well done - I like the vibrant colours and the grainy, textured feel of the shot.

You're right about that Frank, this is the same place, before I got the D70.

Matt

Probably the best SET of shots I've seen from you. Each and every one is a winner and I can't possible pick the best or fault them in any way.

How do you do the border?

Postby kingsley on Sun May 08, 2005 10:21 pm

Hi Matt,

love your gallery on PBASE

I notice your pictures are all the same size with a border round the picture.

Would you mind me asking you how you do that?
Do you do it manually or do you use a action in PS,

Thanks

Great work as always Matt. Love the old rubbish skip in particular, the colours are fantastic. You have an excellent eye for a shot, no question.

I made up a little action...as follows. Select/Select all...this selects the entire image...Edit/stroke/16px in black....this puts the black line around the edge of the image....Image/Canavas size/change both units to "%" (where it says cm etc) and type in 110% for each. This adds a 10% white canvas arount the image....Then back to cavas size and add 1cm to the hight and click on the little square at top center. This puts extra canvas at the bottom of the image making room for title etc. Then stop recording the action.

Superb shots as always Matt. I particularly like 1 and 3; 1 makes me dizzy but the person in it works well, stabilises it for me!
