some shots from barbagello raceway - my first time trying to get shots of the race cars - the hardest part was to get the right shutter speed so that the cars came out sharp and still have the blured background to have the affect that the car was mooving . if u just stick the camera in sports mode the cars apear to be standing still .

nicely done .. i was heading up wanneroo road just as the supercars finished ... the queue going the other way was huge ! luckily we were off to 4wd on the beach :) (which ended in tears after rolling a 4wd.)

thanks Kerry - and to mention i just love alot of the shots u have posted in hear ..
here are another 2 the first is a good example of a too fast shutter speed where the car appears to be still , but it is only a holden which looks to be on fire aswell - ( thats why i still like it ) lol . the second shot is a ford infront of the holden ...

Awesome shots, panning can take quite a while to get the hang of. Given that each type of motorsport generally you need to use different shutter speeds for the speeds of the cars as well you have done well. Great work!

Hi CB, Good shots and the paning is well done as well i gues its not too bad when you have a bit of distance to pan and really does make the picture and you have caught these well.
Well done.
Cheers

looks good but you have to watch out for dust on you sensor.
did you get any shots of the cars head on before into the turn?

Barry the lens was a sigma 70-200 most of the shots had a focal point of 70-150 . and the shutter speeds were between 160-320 but that will depend on the speen of the cars as i was neer a bend they had to slow for the corner..
Redline it was hard to get a realy good front on veiw here are another 2 pics front and back ..

very nice panning indeed !
The results with the cars in focus and the background blurry AND the wheels
blurry are great.
Well done.

Love the flame shot - BTW that is called excessive horsepower (something a ford doesn't have to deal with)

fantastic photo's very clear and sharp. hopefully i get the chance to have a go at photoing them one day
