This is the first pic that I've posted, taken with 18-70 kit lens. It was also one of the first shots I took with my D70. It's a bit soft, but I guess you've gotta start somewhere.

Comments most welcome.

Welcome to the forums John.

Nice shot, though perhaps a touch too dark (do you shoot RAW?)

I'd love to go to Tassie with my D70 for a while, you live in a very photogenic place.

Great photo, the softness adds to the photo. If you want to sharpen it a bit, use unsharp mask in either NC or photoshop :)

Nice first post, John. Look forward to seeing more.

Pictures do soften up a bit going from Pixspot to the Forum for some reason. As has been said, I don't think it hurts this picture any.

But what did you do to that poor little rose to make it cry?

Welcome!

Thanks for the feedback all.

This was shot as jpeg fine L not raw. I haven't done any raw yet. I purposely darkened the background in PS because the background was pretty ordinary.

Tassie is certainly a special place for things to photograph. Just as soon as I get something I think is half decent, I'll post them. I'm certainly going thru a steep learning curve with this magnificant camera.

Those little tears on the rose are your typical Tassie morning dew (or did it just stop raining, can't remember).

Cheers
John
