Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

I couldn't help thinking of Stubbsy & ChristianD when this one came into my viewfinder...

I was down at Milson's Point experimenting with the 80-400VR and this came along...

Not for critique... Just sharing...

</td><td width=50%>This first pic is the wide shot of the James Craig passing some sails of a different kind... Taken at 80mm</td></tr>
<tr><td width=50%>This next one, shows the full reach of the 80-400VR, showing good detail of the crew hauling up the last sail.</td><td width=50%>

</td><td width=50%>This last one shows the huge scale of the James Craig... I'm sure that there was a little bit of clearance at the top of the mast, but it looked close from where I was standing...</td></tr></table>

That first one is a great timed catch... I use the 80-400 too, find it a great lens, the VR's a saver for me as I have a lot of trouble holdign the bloody cam steady enough with any form of long zoom...

That last one looks oh so close

the cloudy day washes out the colours, but the shot of the crew against the opera house skyline shows the power of this lens!

looking at the crew shot has probably cost me $1,800!!! thanks leek!
