Four pics from my last week at sea off the south coast of NSW, before the weather turned nasty. All taken off the coast near Jervis bay.

The helicopter is a Seahawk from the Naval Air Station at Nowra and the ship is HMAS Stuart, an ANZAC class frigate.

All helo pics taken with the 70-300mm G lens and the ship with an 85mm 1.4@ F7.1, 1/1250. I tried to get a bit of motion blur on the blades of the helicopter.

Definately agree with the motion blur on the first one. Its difficult to get right especially with a wobbling helicopter but I think you have pulled it off. I especially like the composition as you get a brilliant angle of the chopper.

I was wondering why my ears were burning. :)

We came home two days early because we broke down. :( (again)

Those are really great shots Steve... They look as if they came straight out of Jane's Monthly or some such magazine... Very impressed... I like the shadow frame effect too...
Cheers, John

Engines are fine but other parts of the ship aren't. No A/C's, barely any hot water, power problems, cracks in places that are not good to have cracks etc....
