Playing with ISO settings

Just a quick shot I took while playing around with different ISO settings. This one was taken at 1600.

Lots of grain.

Trex (the dog's name) is a kelpie and is totally obsessed with tennis balls. He was chasing after one when I took this shot.

to be honest I think this would be a truly awesome shot if it didn't have so much noise. Although then maybe you wouldn't have been able to freeze the action so well.

Still a very good shot.

I think this is a great shot. IMO, the noise looks good. I also like the colour and how the sky is just white.

I'm not seeing the image here.

Strange, as it's on a Swiftel connection, as am I.

I think the amount of noise suits the colour and mood of the image. If it was a full colour one taken at ISO 200 I think it would look just as good.

I was experimenting with ISO settings so I could get an idea of what the digital looks like at its extremes.
My thoughts for the current competition are of photojournalisitc style images so I wanted to play with that hard hiting grainy look.
I feel it can put a spin on an image.
I used to shoot B&W film and push it from 400ISO anywhere up to 1600ISO.

It certainly captured him in full flight as he runs like the blazers. His total focus on the ball is evident too.
