I was merrily shooting this Pelican today when he decided to turn himself inside out for my entertainment... I've never seen one do this before - presumably he was stretching the skin...

- - - As usual, click for more pic - - -

Then I caught him head on - I'm not sure I've ever seen a Pelican from this angle before as the head looks very strange...

A close up of the webbed foot:

And just for good measure an orthodox photo of said Pelican...

leek,
The 80-400VR is a nice lens isn't it?
Hilop shot the workshop today at the monastery with his 80-400VR, surely, he's happy with it.
What are u complaint for? get a CPL for it then be completed set and having fun in the long run.

What's all this talk about a CPL???
Which photos would have benefitted from a CPL...

And the answer is no... I don't have one to fit the 80-400VR yet...

The first time I saw a Pelican do the "inside out thing" it freaked me out  Wondering what the heck it was doing but was fascinating to watch just the same...

Like that last one, the classic Pelican pose :) They're hard to expose corectly too, aren't they?

Never tried a CPL on wildlife/animal shots... Hmmm, might have to try that but assume it'll slow shutter speeds...

Wow Leek, cool shot.

You gotta admire an animal that can turn a certain piece of their anatomy inside out

Can anybody else on this Forum do that  To a piece of their anatomy that is.

Heeehee.

Sorry, I've had a few. Hic hic up up
