Lighting control with Flash - 3 of 8

This time I position the SB800 on the right of the butt. By pointing towards the wings at an angle, the light from the flash actually reveals the pattern and texture of the wings. This pattern is not visible with frontal lighting where the flash is mounted on the camera.

Wow, this seems so sharp and detailed, you really can see the texture in the wing... Thanks for the lighting tips :)

Thanks. You can do it too. This is a very common butt in your backyard. Try it in the late afternoon. At about 4 - 4:30 pm, they lay to rest. You can try different setup till the sun goes down.
