Look great Matt. The forklift image reminds me of your VW image. Is the "things" shot how they came out before post processing?

I love these industrial shots. Particuarly enjoyed how you seemed to be able to capture the workers without distracting them from their job. It seemed almost like you weren't there. Do you know them and how did you get into this factory.

Great to see what the d70 can do on 1600 iso. Perfectly acceptable noise I thought.

I've got tickets to Sydney Open in a couple of weeks and one of the tours I'm doing is of the old Everleigh Rail Yards. I can't wait to get some 'industrial' shots myself.

Thanks for the pics

Thanks for the comments. I go to this foundry fairly often and can move around freely. I used the kit lens...(heavens forbid!) I tend to just "hang around" and I shoot very quickly. I nearly always shoot candidly. I have made some A3 prints...but I put them through "NOISEWARE" and just knocked out a little of the noise. The images I have posted have not been through this routine. I shot RAW but in future I will go back to shooting JPG's because RAW is too much of a hassel and offers not much extra.

Things and Iron are fab - very abstract - maybe an idea for a future comp!

Cheers

Strangely, in the foundry but very quiet, no noise, strike? No! I saw people are working!!!!!!!

ISO1600, noise is not noticeable with D70 + kit lens, it's great stuff!!!

Once again, Matt, you have done a fabulous shooting in the foundry and your images brought me back to my memory22 year ago, at the time which I was working at Boeing Field in Seatle, US. not look like the foundry but there are many same characters.
