The last shot is a standout. I wouldn't be worried about no fill flash. The image here is what matters. The other shot that grabs me is the one of the bee. Either the flowers are tiny or that is one big mother of an insect. Nice sharp shot.

GReat shots Storm. I must say I think the Canon shooters are very gutsy, I thought alligators can run at something like 35mph? Your front on of the gator looks great

As others have said the snake shot is awesome. We are all aware that everything in the States is bigger but the bee beats all

Storm, I love the last shot even though i hate snakes, my thinking the only good 1 is a dead 1. That Gator wow they are standing there with nothing inbetween, there no mesh on that fence but yeh, what would be good is to see him munching on 1 of them canon peeps. Well great shots Storm, but i wouldnt be that keen so get that close.
Cheers
John

thanks for all your feedback guys! that garter snake in the last shot was pretty cooperative. He was only about 12 inchs but had a defensive streak a mile long. a buddy of mine would just wave his hand at him from a good 4 ft away as if saying 'ello and he would just start striking. that's how I was able to time that shot. used my 28-80mm for it.

yes, gators are pretty fast. I took my shot and quickly moved out of postion. as you can see, if he was irritated, he would have had a great choice of photo junkies to munch on. The pic was taken on a very busy path, perhaps he is just used to all the attention. BTW. this was the same path I took the pic of the anhingas I posted a few weeks ago.

if you guys dont' have these bees down there, they are called bumble bees. they are very gentle and slow, only stinging if their life is threatened. The average size one is about the size the programs dial on the left side of the D70.

once again, thanks for all the awsome feedback!
