A couple of happy snaps of a magpie which happened to drop in.

No need for critique as they are snaps of a wonderful bird species I wanted to share... not meant to be studied closely... however comments are more than welcome :)

EVIL BIRDS  during nesting season. I've been swooped so many times while on a run that I've been mentally scarred forever - now the very sound of flapping wings makes me hit the ground!

But their carolling is wonderful - the quintessential Australian sound.

They are so easy to become accustomed to humans, I had a few nesting out the front and now they come down either when I call or they'll land next to the car when I get home or leave in the morning... Even the young one from last years nest takes food from your hand now.

Don't they sound wonderful in the morning? I'd rather wake up to the sound of magpies or other natural sounds like cows or something at 5am, than a car out the front at 7am... Twisted???
