d70s colors and Nikkor 70-180 micro

This shot was taken in a light rain shower, hand held, using the sb800 as a fill flash. Sunlight was very muted with almost full overcast sky. I goofed the aperture....... Much too shallow for the subjects. :(

Anyway, this shot is straight out of the camera, only resized and a light USM for the web. I'm reminded of all the threads on DPR about how the d70 colors are lifeless and dull and can't do reds... :lol:

Hi kerry, Mate nothing wrong with them roses, looks nice. Oneday i will try play with my flash a bit more.

That SB800 is one powerful tool - love roses - so guess what :!:

That is a nice image, and as you point out the roses are red. I don't know where the comments that D70 does not handle reds come from, but my experience is the exact opposite.

Thanks for the very kind comments, guys. :D I wish I hadn't goofed the DOF so bad, but them's the breaks.
