A few new surf shots

Nothing great here, seems harder to get the light correct in winter than summer, at least it was a magnificent day up on the coast today, and I had the privilege of having a free day!

Strangely, that first image gives me an odd feeling that the wave is still swelling and it's about to break all over my keyboard.

Really gnarly dude. Great effect.

I agree about the light ... looks quite dull, yet the highlights seem blown (damn hard to avoidd given its white foam !

The thing I find with this situation , in surf, is that you can underexpose a little more forgivingly, preserving the the highlight, and bringing the other areas back up in post processing ... due to the nature of the waters appearance, its forgiving to noise / lesser details. imho

I think you're correct Darb, underexposing is preferable to overexposure, using manual mode most of the time I find myself adjusting shutter speeds mid surf sequence as the light changes so quickly. Will just have to wait for summer again I think and the straight overhead sunlight which is really even.
