Hi all

With a few other sports shots being posted of late I thought I would share one from my first sports outing with the D70. It was taken at a under 14's football match in country Victoria.

Image

I spent most of the weekend wishing I had just a little more reach with my lens. As you can see the drought has taken its toll on the football ground with hardly a green blade of grass to be seen.

The young bloke in the middle is a family member, I don't think he kept his eye on the ball in this shot.

All comments welcome. :)

Great shot Paul. Which lens did u shoot this with? Kit? Did you do any PP sharpening? I know he's kinda crouching in this shot, but is he a LOT smaller anyway than the other players? Has he seen the shot? I bet he likes it!?! :)

The shot is sharp with good color and contrast, Paul. Nice stop action. :D

Paul - this is a superb shot - good action, focus and colour. The little fella with the giants is classic :D

Thanks for the comments guys.

It was shot with a 70-300 ED at F5.6 and 1/1250, it has had the saturation tweaked and a little bit of sharpening in PS. His mum and dad were quite happy when I gave them an A4 version of the shot.

In the under 14s you get quite a wide spread of ages playing, I believe he was one of the youngest and smallest on the team but it doesn't seem to stop him from getting in there.
