Hi All, well tonight i went to one of the builders BBQ here where i deliver a lot of concrete to. We had it down the back of some units we have been doing for an new old folks residence. More than likely will be one of the best setups in SA maybe even Oz. Anyhow took the camera with the kit lens and sb800 and well i think the few pics i took are great as these were taken in pitch darkness and only light was from a fire in a 44g drum. I could hardley see them in the veiw finder to focus so here is a few.

I had the difuser on and had it in normal position pointing straight.

Top shots BBJ.

The SB800 does really rock. I find it's getting the WB right that helps. I took a few shots of my Dad at a BBQ with a flood light behind him with the SB800 and 50 1.4. Worked quite well.

Darryl, thanks i had wb on auto -2 and seems to be ok, but yeh was dark as so i am also surprised with the AF as well. I just had camera set on SP at 1/125 and flash i-TTL.

The SB800 helps greatly with that, makes low (no?) light AF a breeze.

Boxer we was at the back of a Brick unit and yes that what you would have seen, but as it was very dark so i blinded everyone.

Chris, well i dont think he did as he doesn't mind a drink and well he the bloke who gets all his concrete from us, strange he is a good bloke puts on a few show's during the year for the blokes and puts on a great BBQ. More than what i can say my boss does only show we have is a Xmas show, but thems the brakes.
But yes i love the SB800 and must play more with oneday.

Cheers
John
