Here's a couple of shots which I took of a storm developing over the water while my old man and I were finishing up a nights snapper fishing in moreton bay. Nothing beats nature letting you know when it's time to go home. :)

These pics are fascinating as they are very similar to what I saw on Fox a few days ago. The Fox program was on the biggest tornado to hit the US.

Excellent pics

thanks Chris...

apparently touch downs happen often on moreton bay... i've seen some in the distance before.. but this was the first we were close to.

it was a nice learning curve on how best to hold a camera still whilst bobbing around on the water... :)

Great pics mate, it is amazing some of the cloud formations that you see from time to time. So well done anyhow i want to know how did the fishing go? i love my fishing but haven't been for some time as i keep saying i am going to do more fishing but yeh get tired up doing other things. I like my beach fishing, get the old surf rod out and just go and relax at times even though i dont eat fish unless it's shark or from fish n chip shop.LOL

They are very nice captures, and how did you hold the camera steady in a bobbing boat?

work out a pattern... lean against something stable... the power of vr... exhale ... hold breath.. snap (1/400). a few shots came out terrible, but these two came out okay i think.

The real challenge is getting the horizon straight.

Great shots; reminds me of our first spring in Dallas, and our first ever storm there. We just stood in the breezeway of our apartment complex watching the lightning. Awesome stuff.

you're spot on there about the horizon gary.... you should see the originals.... they looked straight to me when shooting but the horizon is at a 25% angle. :D

Excellent Mark. The second one works better for me. I think the portrait orientation makes the image stronger.
