Another productive photowalk by myself last night. Here's a couple of them, the rest are in my flickr account and I think that they're pretty good as well. I'll probably post them here eventually. After a little contrast and PP this might be my fave.



But this one works for me too. Is he too much in the center?



I thought of you guys when I took this one for some reason. I don't think I've ever had a picture jump out at me like this one does. Really 3-d.

Dave - these pics do not have the impact that your earlier shots have although I do like the third pic - you are right

The first is very dramatic. Makes me want to keep looking at it. You've got that B&W conversion down pat.
I can't help but feel that the second one would be enhanced by cropping. I'm not sure exactly how it should be cropped, but I think the right crop would make it a prize winner.
The third is a very good shot and technically excellent, but just doesn't do it for me emotionally.

Your comments describe my feelings as well. The third one needs something else or it's just a stock photo, but a decent one.

I played around with some different crops in the 2nd, but I just couldn't decide, and I simply hated losing any of the sky, which was stupid, so I didn't crop at all.

The buildings in the first one are personified somehow and so I quite like it, though I should get rid of the little light streaks on the upper left.

The first building site looks almost spooky to me

Really like the image of the fisherman in #2, has a very serine feel to it maybe wish the net had more time to "fill out" or take shape maybe?

The third one really does seem like 3d, the colours are stunning, I keep going to the middle of the display thing and wondering what's that in the middle...

I like the 1st 2 pics, especially the fisherman. It captures the moment excellently. I am sorry, but for me, the last one does nothing, but then thats probably me.

I agree with most that has been said so far.
The fisherman is my favourite, but I don't think the problem is the cropping, I would have liked to see it framed with the fisherman on the far left of the photo and the net towards the middle with plenty of room on the right. You just can't crop it like that because there's not enough photo to the right of the net.

Dave I really like the third image, not sure it needs improvement. While I like the first 2 images, I also think they lack the feel of your previous group of B & Ws. The earlier lot had a gritty film noir sort of feel (hope that makes sense) which these lack.

my fav is the fisherman too....
i would have to agree that if he was moved to the left of the pic, throwing the net into the open space, this pic would have been perfect.

as is tho, its a great capture!
i see you have been busy now that you have moved into the downtown area....

the blues in the last one are amazing.
i think it would have been better without the structure in the pic actually. im thinking the colours and the night lights are enough to hold this pic together actually....

All are good shots, Dave, but the fisherman is very cool. It might work a little better with a crop of the left side, as you alluded to in your post.
