If I'm right - that's a shot from the upper part of the Rocks in Sydney near the very fine Australian Hotel.
When was it taken? The only reason I ask is that the car/4WD on the left looks fairly modern, but the skyline does look like the eighties...
I don't think you would get as much blue sky on the skyline today...

Very nice memorial picture for me, I still remember the quietness of those street in the 80s.

yeah there was a Hotel on the corner there, I was just strolling from another shot I took at pier3-4. The skyline from that angle looks somewhat empty trying to tuck away quite a few of the modern buildings.
It was taken during the weekend on a clear morning, so the visibility was good. I clearly remember that 4seasons hotel being one of the more prominent buildings over the Cahill Expressway during the 80s, it's now been dwarfed by the many others.

[nod] I believe so, and the Governor Philip building tucked away on the right was also in the Mission Impossible movie when from the TOP. In the Matrix a lot of the Sydney's buildings are in the many action scenes, the others are the fairfax buildings on darling harbour east.
