Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

ContrastThese were all taken on the Boat Harbour venture.
They are my attempt to turn mediocre photos into something different and hopefully give them some punch. As you can probably tell, I couldn't decide between desaturated and extra saturated for most of them. I think I prefer the colour versions. - Nick

Ben - Shouldn't you Nick The first one is still an ordinary shot (sorry). The one of the boat I like the colour, but think your original must have been OK too. The last one of those boys diving into the water looks best in B &W. Peter

I agree with the first one being a crap shot actually. Often when I PP I choose a few that when I look at again in an hour I realise just arn't up to scratch.
After having looking at them more, my liking for the shots is: Boat in colour, first two of the kids in colour and the last of the kids in black and white. WRT: I figure it's best to have a proper break rather than just staring aimlessly at the page, as happens after too long. Last edited by pippin88 on Sun Jun 12, 2005 8:46 pm, edited 1 time in total.

That first diver shot was a decisive moment. By displaying it on the forum you just lost yourself a D70s. To make matters worse...I have a similar shot and now I can't use it for the comp either. Curse you again Baron Von Pippin! Last edited by Matt. K on Sun Jun 12, 2005 8:45 pm, edited 1 time in total.
